Below is a letter written by Ron Paul to my good friend Lorie Meacham. Ron Paul is a Texas statesman, and a true stalwart for liberty. He recently retired from an auspicious career as a US Congressman. He continues to be active in politics, and the TDJ fully endorses the political beliefs of Ron Paul and the organizations he is associated with.

“Dear Lorie,

I’ve seen firsthand what happens when members of Congress start to feel the heat from concerned citizens like you on an issue.

They get this unmistakable look of concern on their faces that their constituents might actually be watching them!

Sadly, many would rather you ignore what happens in Washington, D.C. so they can get back to “business as usual” – ramping up spending and growing government.

So I can’t thank you enough for taking action to stop the madness in Washington.

Your action in support of Campaign for Liberty’s ongoing efforts to restore free markets, sound money, and respect for individual liberty and constitutional principles is making an unmistakable impact.

And it’s an impact you and I are only just beginning to realize.

So, last night, my kid sez to me, “People are always trying to make me do things even after I told them I don’t want to do it. Even when it’s none of their business.”

So, I sez to her, “That’s never going to stop. I truly do not know why, but for some reason people get heavily invested in trying to force everyone else to live their lives the way they want them to, even when they clearly haven’t figured out how to live their own lives. Just because people tell you that you have to do things, doesn’t always mean you have to. Sometimes you do. Mostly you do not. The only way you’ll ever be happy is to decide either you’re going to do whatever everybody else wants you to do, or decide you’re going to make your own decisions and not care if other people are pissed off about it.”

“Well, then that’s what I’m going to do.”

“What’s that?”

“Do what I think I should do. They’re never gonna be happy anyway. They’ll just want me to do something else when I’m finished with the first thing.”

Man. 12 years old, and she’s already figuring out things I had to learn over and over and over.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is a lesson I myself learned only recently. Most of us have been raised to be docile and listen to authority. What we need to understand is that, ultimately, we are our own authority. Our government is infested with meddlers and parasites. We all need to get in the habit of standing our ground and pushing back. We need to understand that we are each the absolute sovereigns of our own lives. We will overcome.

PATRIOTS: BOOT OUT THE REPUBLICANS AND THE DEMOCRATS

The same thing ought to apply to all those who want to continue the war on drugs, have public health care and education, ban guns, impose hate speech laws, keep prostitution illegal, lock out Mexicans, etc, etc. The only true Americans are the Libertarians! The policies of Dems and Reps are all as bad and as unamerican as the Sharia Law.

And of course many of the Islamic migrants living in Western democracies migrated to escape the tyranny of Sharia Law from Afghanistan, from Egypt, etc. They appreciate freedom, and are productive, tolerant and civilized members of our societies, peacefully practicing their own faith on equal terms with everyone else.

They do not wish to establish Sharia Law. And it is bigotry to think that all Muslims are religious fanatics who desire to impose their faith on others by force, or to kill Christians, etc.

What is truly sickening are all the so-called Libertarians who wont vote Libertarian!

How sickening it is to watch them waste their votes by voting “Republican” and then hear the excuse that the Libertarians have no hope of getting elected!

What is worse is that the actually elect right-wing Socialist Republicans!

(Facepalm!)

I admit that Ron Paul was an exceptional Republican, yet what the Republican party did to stop him from becoming their candidate for President ought to be evidence enough that the Republican party is hell bent on maintaining the Status quo; it has no agenda of Libertarian reform. In no way ought Libertarians to be suckered into supporting Rand Paul. He should have quit the party after what they did to his old man, yet he has chosen to stick around simply out of personal ambition rather than principle.

EDITOR’S NOTE: I personally do not have a stance on Rand Paul at this time. I’m still watching him and forming my opinion of him. That having been said, I think, in general, Tim’s point is correct — if you are a Libertarian, and you vote for one of the two main parties, then that is a wasted vote. I also agree with his assessment of Islam in America. Tim Wikiriwhi is running for office as mayor of the city of Hamilton, New Zealand. The Transegoist Daily Journal endorses the candidacy of Tim Wikiriwhi.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VISIONARY FOUNDER OF AWARENESS ACT

When you speak to Mike Moore, you are immediately struck by how approachable he is. Many people say “I’m just a regular guy.” With Mike, this is actually quite true.

From what I can tell, this guy has had quite a journey in building this site; both figuratively and literally. Sleepless nights of waking up, feeling the urge to say something; to do something, launching the site, days on the road in an RV and car troubles, galvanizing the will of friends, and building something worthwhile — brick by brick.

I got a chance to talk to him about these things and more on 30 April 2013 (a recording of the interview can be viewed at the bottom of this article). I mentioned the first article I did on his site, the day after the site was launched. (NEW ALTERNATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA KINGPIN? Published on 27 March 2013.) At that time, there were already over 1,000 members, up from around 300-400 the previous day.  The site membership now stands at a staggering 12,566 members; and what is even more incredible is the fact that this number represents memberships from every corner of the globe. This is not yet enough to compete with Facebook or Twitter, but it’s now more than just a blip on the radar — especially since they’ve achieved this in a little over a month, and have only just left beta phase.

Mike and his team of dedicated programmers are working around the clock (literally!) to improve the site. Today, Marshal Nelson, one of the site’s developers, has officially announced that the launch of a mobile app for the site is pending. I for one am eagerly looking forward to it. This site has become an intellectual haven for many people all around the globe — myself included. Browsing Awareness Act has become my default down-time activity; if I’m not working or spending time with friends and loved ones, chances are, I’m logged into Awareness Act.

I know I speak not only for myself, but for everyone at Awareness Act when I say that I am deeply grateful to Mike and his team for they are doing with the site. Keep up the good work, guys.

When Orthodox medicine has no answers, then it’s time to get busy and see what alternative treatments are available. How to Raise Alkaline in the Body

The balance of acidic and alkaline substances in your body is important for the function of the proteins and cells in most of your body’s tissues. The balance of acids and bases is often described as the pH; the blood naturally has a pH of around 7.4, which means that there are slightly more alkaline substances than acidic substances in the blood. If your blood becomes too acidic, it puts stress on the body, which can affect your health. There are a number of different ways to increase the alkalinity of your body.

Step 1: avoid acid-producing foods. Many of the foods in the typical Western diet generate acid in the body, which will neutralize some of the naturally occurring alkaline chemicals in your blood. Acid-producing foods include most meats and dairy products, alcohol, beans and legumes, white pasta and other grains, such as oats, rice, wheat and corn, the Wolfe Clinic explains. According to the acid/alkaline balance theory of diet, reducing your intake of these foods will help raise the amount of alkaline chemicals in your body.

Step 2: increase your intake of alkaline-producing foods. In addition to reducing the amount of acidic foods you eat, the acid/alkaline balance theory of diet recommends that people eat foods that cause the body to produce alkaline chemicals. Most fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits, are broken down into alkaline substances upon digestion. Eggs, cottage cheese, fermented tofu, most seeds and many spices also have an alkalizing effect on the body.

Step 3: take potassium citrate and magnesium citrate supplements. These minerals can help maintain the balance of calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium that are needed to help the body stay healthy and maintain its pH, AlkalizeForHealth.net explains. Because there is no standard dose of magnesium and potassium citrate, follow the dosing directions on the packaging of the supplement.

Step 4: take sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline substance which is normally produced by the body and can also be taken as a supplement in the form of baking soda. Baking soda can be obtained without a prescription and the dose you need will vary, depending on the condition for which you are taking baking soda. Drugs.com recommends that you follow a doctor’s instructions or follow the directions on the packaging if you take sodium bicarbonate supplements.

THE PROPER SCOPE OF GOVERNMENT

I am a Libertarian, and I strongly endorse the idea of a Libertarian government. A Libertarian government is very simple; it is based on a single, overriding principle, which is reflected in the Bill of Rights of the US Constitution:

The individual is the rightful owner of himself (or herself).

This means:

1. Do not kill.

2. Do not rape.

3. Do not steal.

4. Do not trespass.

5. Honor your contracts, and do not commit fraud.

And that’s it. The government must do whatever is necessary to apprehend, prosecute, and, if necessary, punish those that violate one of the above rules, and must not do anything outside of the principle of protecting the individual and his/her property. This means means that there should only be the following general government components:

1. A military (to protect from invasion).

2. A legislature (to create laws that reflect the overriding principle).

3. A judiciary (to try suspects).

4. A police force (to investigate and apprehend suspects).

5. Corrections (to carry out the orders of the judiciary).

All government activity must fall into one of these categories.

And how do we achieve this government? Either gradually or by revolution. Here’s where I would start:

1. Get a constitutional amendment that eliminates the commerce and general welfare clauses.

2. Get a constitutional amendment that requires the reading of all new laws on the floor in their entirety before a vote — if a congressperson or senator fails to be present for the entire reading, then that legislator may only vote “no” on the bill. All laws on the books shall be reviewed in this manner (1 law per day, ordered from most to least expensive), and shall be null and void if not passed. Every law passed will be brought before the supreme court for review on the basis of the override of the commerce and general welfare clauses.

ARMED RALLY PLANNED FOR 04 JULY 2013

The group, “Take American Back,” is planning an armed and peaceful rally on July 4, 2013 in Washington, D.C. Washington D.C. has some the strictest gun laws in America. Will this be the first battle of the 2nd Civil War? This is a quote from their twitter update:

“I will be very clear about this peaceful armed march. I really want to thank all of you for your input, but it really boils down to you have the choice to be there or not. I am not forcing one person to go. The reason for this march is very simple to let our government know “we the people” are here, and they should be listening to us. We are not going for trouble; that is why we are consulting with police, and yes, our military. We have a constitutional right to have this march, and we will exercise those rights. By the way, any gun law that infringes on the second amendment is an unconstitutional law. I am glad to see a healthy debate going on about this subject. So let’s be clear: you can come to this march armed or unarmed, or you do not have to come. This march will take place with or without the ones that are not going to come. So debate all you want to, but please understand: we know Facebook is watching what we post, and the government is watching what we post. We think this is a good thing because they might just learn something. But the way I see it, as of this time it is 80% for the march and 20% against the march. I respect all of your opinions so carry on the debate……OORAH!”

EDITOR’S NOTE: It is the birthright of every American to carry guns openly (or hidden on their person) in public. Of course, our state and local laws do not always respect that fact. When you walk around armed in D.C., you take a certain amount of risk. Then again, this could be our ECB moment.
